After Oct 7th, there is a major awakening of faith and a thirst for meaning among Israeli youth, these connections are priceless to the young men and women who would otherwise have no connection to their mesorah (tradition).
Migdal Ohr’s youth movement, Ohr Yisraeli has 160 branches from the north to the south of Israel where teens meet with mentors and rabbis weekly. This month, the branches from Netanya, Beer Sheva, Rechovot, and Kiryat Tivon visited Jerusalem, where they had the opportunity to hear from prominent religious leaders such as Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef, Rabbi Reuven Elbaz, and Rabbi Grossman.
The teens described these visits as moving opportunities to be in the presence of greatness and talked about how they feel more connected to the Torah classes and videos that they see of these giants now that they have met them in person.
Thank you for enabling a country in survival mode to have the foresight to invest in the spirituality an resilience of its youth. These youth people will remember their meetings with the rabbis for years to come and use these experiences to fuel their own spiritual growth and transformation!
