This past week, teens and alumni of Zoharim Youth Village laced up their running shoes for the 2nd Annual "Run in Their Memory." The run honored the brave IDF soldiers who sacrificed their lives so that future generations could grow up in a safe and thriving Israel.
The morning began with relatives of fallen soldiers sharing their stories. As participants took their places, they carried the names of heroes close to their hearts, running for those who could no longer run beside them.At the finish line, the teens gathered to light memorial candles, recite prayers, and sing songs of unity and hope.
The "Run in Their Memory" has become a tradition that strengthens the bond between the future leaders of Israel and those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that they could continue to thrive and grow up here.As Chaim Dan, one of the heads of the Youth Village, told the teens, "We hope that each of you returns to make this run bigger and more significant with every passing year.
Our heroes remind us all of the responsibility we carry—to build, protect, and cherish the Jewish homeland that they died defending."
