It occurred to me, after working in the jails for three years, that it made no sense to wait until you had to rehabilitate people. If you can get to kids before they are damaged, you are ahead of the game.

Education

Migdal Ohr programs strive to develop the full intellectual, spiritual, social, and emotional potential of our children. Our nurturing programs are truly the heart of our mission: to instill self-confidence and self-esteem in all our children.

Our highly trained teams of professional educators, counselors, therapists, and house fathers and mothers identify learning disabilities, heal emotional scars, and improve the behavioral problems of every child accepted into and cared for by Migdal Ohr. Each child receives constant supervision, individualized assessment, mentoring, access to targeted after-school programs, enhancement courses, and guidance. We ensure that each child is prepared for higher education and/or a career path—and grows up to create a new tradition of a healthy, intact family.

As part of our total efforts to create a better home environment for students from dysfunctional families, our family intervention program reaches out to help families better understand the needs of their children. Our goal is to protect Migdal Ohr students from the painful harshness of family problems.

Sports facilities

Once the children's emotional issues are fully addressed, our educational programs can begin in earnest. Facilities include day care centers, nurseries, kindergartens, elementary schools, high schools, and boarding schools; upper level schools offer both academic and vocational tracks. Our schools are equipped with the finest educational aids, including science laboratories, computers, libraries, graphic arts workshops, music and art training centers, and sports facilities. We also operate schools for gifted children, and run special education programs.
